Introduction to the U.S. Customs Power of Attorney
A Power of Attorney is a legal instrument used to delegate legal authority from one party to another. The U.S. Power of Attorney enables Unipac Shipping Inc. or Continental Agency Inc. to act on behalf of the principle (Importer of Record) to perform any act or condition, which may be required by law or regulation, in connection with the transportation of merchandise for importation or exportation.
This is an interactive U.S. Customs Power of Attorney (POA), along with our Terms and Conditions of Service, developed by Unipac Shipping Inc. and Continental Agency Inc. to enable line-by-line completion with appropriate instructions for your guidance.
Once completed, initialed and signed by an officer and/or duly empowered company official of your company, this POA now provides Unipac Shipping Inc. or Continental Agency Inc. the authority to complete documents, which may be required by law or regulation, to conduct Import and/or Export transactions on your behalf.
Once the POA has been completed, printed and appropriately initialed and signed; Save a copy for your records. Send the Originally signed POA to Unipac Shipping Inc. or Continental Agency Inc. office that you will be conducting business with.
